As a self-employed business owner and Virtual Assistant, what do you think about the idea of being "managed" by clients?

    The concept of one being “managed” by another sounds distasteful, condescending, and demeaning. Obviously, there are those who serve in the role of “managers,” some manage projects, offices, teams, and/or employees. As a small business owner, operating my VA practice, I simply don’t understand why any of my clients would describe their relationship with me in that way. Perhaps, there’s another meaning or implication to this phrase, and if written in another context might make some sense. Those are my thoughts …
