Last week I got grabbed by friends into going out. Which turned out to be way cool. We have an Italian friend from Naples, Italy, who owns this adorable Italian cafe in the local business district.
As I was telling the group of some of the weekend adventures Rob was planning for us once I get to Germany, Fabrizio (that’s his name–isn’t that just the dreamiest?) offered to hook us up with a stay at his good friend and winesupplier’s CASTLE on his vineyard in Italy.
Can you imagine?!
He said it’s about a 14 hour train ride from Mannheim, but that we could hit Venice, Milan, Trieste and a couple other wonderful Italian cities. He’s also mapping us out a little travel itinerary of his own recommendations.
The other cool thing is that in Germany their regular work week is shorter than ours (less than 40 hours) and everything above that is overtime. Rob was allowed to convert all his overtime into vacation time and he’s already got it arranged for some 4 and 5 day weekends so we can get in our extra travelling.
I’m so excited!
